Exam Consultation

Before your child starts to study or if your child feels stuck in their progress,
you can set up an Accelerate! Test Consultation.

Students are expected to use exam results to study for their next test. They can do this on their own, or they can accelerate their learning with an individual, custom consultation.

This meeting is for you and your child if, . . .

Your child just got back their PSAT scores, and you'd like your child to use these results to accelerate their study process as they prepare for the SAT.

Your child has taken one or more of the following exams to get into high school: ISEE, SSAT, or HSPT, or to get into college: SAT or ACT, they received their scores back, and now you'd like a personal evaluation of their results, what next steps can be taken to prepare for the exam.

We can discuss anything that concerns you or how your child can prepare to transition to a new school. I'm also happy to answer any questions you may have.

provides clarity and next step actions so your child can move decisively towards their future. We will evaluate the assessment, align with what is important to you and your family, and I can make recommendations so that you and your child can commit and take action to see Results.

Evaluation will include a personalized analysis of your child's assesment by test sections (including essay writing tips), general exam strategies, and discussion about their experience with the exam. Evaluation will not include reviewing each test question missed.

We can discuss your child's experience of the exam, analyze how your child used their time, where their attention/focus was, and recommend a few tips to support your child with the inner test. (To do their best on exam day, students need to prepare for the 3 tests they'll really be taking: content, strategy, and the inner test.)

Create a study plan that is right for your child

Contrary to popular belief, students don't always know how to begin to study for a standardized test. Taking the test once is great. Knowing what to do with the results, well that's something different. Most students take section after section without anayizing their process to get breakthrough results.

While we won't create a day by day or week by week study plan, by the end of the meeting, students will have an understanding of what key areas they need to work on, we can discuss resources to support your child, and students can commit to a study plan that will work for them.

We can address any concerns you have, and parents and students are welcome to ask any questions that arise.

Results: . . . student and parents will have a clear understanding of what students can focus on to improve their scores, how their focus/attention can help/hurt them, and what next steps they can commit to and take action towards to elevate their scores.

Accelerate! Consulation: Students can accelerate their growth and test scores by beginning to examinine what happended during the exam and how this awareness can prepare students to study for Content, Strategy, and the Inner Tests.

Winter-Spring Consultation: students can solidify math and writing skills before they apply to and enter high school!

Fall Consultation: students can use key strategies immediately that will improve their test scores. Custom evaluation and personalized feedback on focus/attention can accelerate their results.
